Dame of America Luncheon

Sorry everyone after being absent for a couple of weeks - I have just realised that I have been here for 5 weeks now! That's crazy!

Over the last couple of weeks, we have been trying to get all the paperwork sorted out for Mount Clare and I have been to a luncheon with Carol (From the last post), and with other dame ladies.

Overall, My calendar for the next couple of months is pretty full!

I was invited to The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America Annual Meeting, where I met all those lovely ladies! We were having a gathering, which wasn't a formal meeting and we were celebrating our Golden Dames who have been in this organisation for years!

We had our luncheon at the Elkridge Furnace Inn (https://www.elkridgefurnaceinn.com/ ) - which funnily enough was connected to the Mount Clare era! This was an opportunity for me to learn about the history of this place.

I was honoured that I was introduced formally to the room full of ladies as a 'Fellow' from Scotland and I was spoken to by each one of them afterwards. Even in this book, I have been mentioned on who I am and why I am here for this organisation!

So honoured to be part of their day at the annual meet. More posts to come :)
