Day 1: Recovering....

Day one of this amazing trip has been the best!

Thank you so much to Lucy for being my tour guide :)

After recovering from Jetlag, I could wake up on time at 8 a.m. to start my first-day tour in Washington with Lucy.

But first, before we went out to do some touring, Lucy and I sat down to talk about Mount Clare House Museum as I am here to volunteer on what she needs from me to help with this building. I have got so many great ideas for Mount Clare but I asked them if I could get a feel of Mount Clare before designing anything for them.

So then by late morning, we officially went out. I went by The White House, which was amazing by the way. It's smaller than I expected but still a beautiful piece of architecture building! This building has got multiple styles of architecture combined - Palladian and Neoclassical architecture which is gorgeous! Love how the shape of multiple places on the building as well as the engraving on the columns gives a feature to it.

After a walkabout visiting the White House, we drove across to the other side of the 395 freeway, I was kindly given a private tour of The Capitol by Lucy's niece - Erin who was working on her last day as an intern there before heading back home to Los Angeles.

The interior of the Capitol was absolutely stunning! I could not believe how stunning the details of the artwork and statues of each president and some vice presidents were.

We went to the underground entrance of The Capitol because we were told that it's always best to start from underground and work our way up!

Thank you to Erin, Lucy's niece for the amazing tour!

So after the amazing tour at the Capitol, we headed home for some food, a nap and a little bit of work before back out at night. During that time, I managed to catch up with my family to see how everyone was doing especially my dog.

So once everyone was ready and recovered a little bit - Lucy, myself and one of her daughters Katie - we went to pick up Lucy's other daughter Molly from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport at night around 8 pm-ish. Then we headed to Lincoln Memorial, where I finally found it. I've always wanted to go and see it - it's the top one on my bucket list!

And along the line of this beautiful architecture is the Washington Monument! Lucy said that her daughters call it "The Pencil" and I would've called it "The Crayon" if I lived here.

This was a special night to me because I love the way all of the buildings get lit up at night, it is just my favourite thing of all time.

Then the final moment of my night, we all went to a Diner for tea. I had a delicious BLT sandwich with fries. The fries were AMAZING!! The best fries I've ever had!!

Yup! This was my first day in the USA. I am blessed to spend it with the best people too!
